Historic Torun Central Rooms

Good location and a low price don’t make up for the problems here. The place falls below hostel standards and is only suitable for someone undemanding. The shared bathroom and corridors were in poor condition, and the bedding hadn’t been changed. I was sent a PIN for the wrong room, where other people were already staying. The phone numbers on the page and door both gave an unavailable message. This place operates on the edge of fraud.

The location is good, and having a kettle and microwave was a nice plus. But the place needs a major renovation. The heating didn’t work well, there were no curtains, and I had a sofa instead of a bed. The walls and roof were mouldy, the bathroom leaked, and the towels and pillows were poor quality. There was also a peephole in the door connecting two rooms. I booked three nights and honestly couldn’t sleep properly on any of them.

The location and price are good, but stay away. The pictures show something completely different from what you can expect. The person gave me the wrong floor and room number, so I had to go all the way to the top floor and try the supplied PIN to figure out where I was meant to stay. It was extremely hard to reach the owner, who could only be contacted by email or text.

I stayed at the hostel for a weekend. For the price, I think it’s the best you can find in Torun. Some of the earlier bad reviews seem like they may be from competitors, so I wanted to share my experience and address a few claims. The room was quite large, with a comfortable bed, a table and chair, and a microwave. Wi-Fi was great, with download speeds over 5 mb/s. Staff were helpful, entry and rooms felt secure, and each room had its own password. The location is right in the centrum l. There were curtains on the windows despite earlier comments, and a hair fan in the bathroom. My minor complaints: sound insulation was bad, the water boiler in the bathroom limited how much hot water you got at a time, and there’s no reception.
