Hotel Pod Orlem

We had a comfortable bed and plenty of space in a very clean apartment. The staff were friendly and helpful, and it was easy to request parking. The location is handy for both the riverside and the main square. Breakfast was brought to the room during our visit, which was during covid. We enjoyed our stay and will book again next time we're in Toruń.

I only stayed one night in a single room, so I can't comment on every detail, but I felt very comfortable. The receptionist was lovely, and the room was clean with a comfortable bed. It's right in the city centre, too. I'd happily come back.

The stairs are a real workout if you're fit, but if stairs are difficult for you, be aware there was no elevator in 2002. I stayed here for stretches of 1-2 weeks during a six month project in 2002, and it became one of my favorite hotels anywhere. I've spent approximately 7 years in hotels around the world since 1995. This isn't the fanciest place, but I still count it among my favorites, and the location is great.

The room smelled unpleasant and there was no way to air it out. You could hear everyone around you at any hour because there was no sound insulation. Black spots covered the bed sheet, and the toilet paper holder kept coming apart and dropping every 10 seconds. The bottle of water looked as if it had already been opened, and the water tasted like tap water.
