Hotel Royal Baltic Luxury Boutique

We chose half board for our family Christmas stay and enjoyed a great selection at breakfast and dinner every day. The spa was also very good, and most days we had it almost to ourselves. Our elderly parents felt appreciated, and the whole family was well looked after by the staff. The rooms were spacious, with enormous comfortable beds. Everything was quiet and well organized. We received excellent service and highly recommend the place. Thank you!

The hotel looked good from outside, and it may well be new, pleasant, and clean. The oriental design doesn't feel traditional for Pomerania to me, though that's a matter of personal taste. My real problem was the customer service. The staff need retraining as soon as possible. We came into the lobby in the evening without a reservation, hoping to find the best accommodation in the area. We asked the two women at reception about the amenities and whether they had any brochures. Their English wasn't great, but that was fine. As we were close to deciding, two Polish women came in. Even though we'd arrived first, both receptionists turned to them and had a loud conversation in Polish, completely ignoring us. After a couple of attempts to get their attention went nowhere, we took our business elsewhere.

The food is a bright spot, with tasty dishes from different cuisines served each day. But it doesn't feel like the same hotel as last year after the expansion. One Englishman in the canteen said one morning, 'It's overcrowded here. Like a battle every day.' The dog fee is expensive.

The rooms are decorated really nicely, and for the price I think the hotel is worth it, even if it may not be a true five-star place. I only stayed one night while traveling for work, so I can't really comment on the food.
