Residenz Selena

The furnishings are elegant and the location is great, but I found it hard to relax here. There’s no vodka glassware, only wine glasses, and the owner seems very concerned about what guests drink and when they go to bed, preferably before 10 PM. Strange music plays in the hallway, meant to be relaxing but more like something from a horror film. The owner would appear around the corner, very stiffly, to point out that something else had gone wrong. It’s a peculiar place, and it didn’t feel suited to a restful holiday.

We needed somewhere for our last night after nine days staying with neighbors, and came back from the beach to sort out the balance. The receptionist insisted on cash, though nobody had told us in advance despite several phone calls. When we objected, she wouldn’t let us have a room to settle down and go get the money. She was also unhappy that we didn’t want breakfast, then sent us away and called us out. A disaster. I don’t recommend it.

A very peaceful spot in the port district, with everything kept really clean. The rooms are roomy and the beds are especially comfortable. I recommend it if you’re after some quiet.

Selena Residence was a dream for our stay. The hostess was so warm and shared some really useful tips. I’d definitely recommend it.
