Apartamenty Lambert

We spent four days here for our first New Year's Eve stay, hoping to relax. We were in room 302. The coffee machine was badly scaled, although all the lights worked. For what we paid, I’d expect things like trash bags and dishwasher tablets to be ready on arrival, and the dishwasher to have been checked first. Having a safe would also help, so we wouldn’t need to carry our valuables around. The receptionist speaks no German at all. The blonde woman on the early shift today seemed more occupied with her phone or hand cream.

I booked the apartment through booking.com, but for check-in I had to drive through a congested city to another location, only to find out the key was already in the apartment. They didn’t tell me about paid parking until I arrived, and it costs 50 PLN/day. I also couldn’t reach reception by phone.

The spa is inconvenient to get to, since it’s 1.5 km away, about a 15-minute walk. Parking costs extra and was quite chaotic at the apartments. Several pedestrian lights flicker badly and still haven’t been fixed, so they’re not suitable for people with epilepsy. There was no doormat, so sand and damp kept getting tracked inside, including from the balcony, and there was no dish towel for drying. The cutting knife was dull, presumably because previous guests put it in the dishwasher. The coffee machine and kettle were scaled up, and no descaler was supplied. Breakfast could arrive any time between 8 and 9 am. It wasn’t sustainable either: you choose from three preset options, but we only used the rolls, butter, and water. The rest, including the plastic delivery boxes, was thrown away. A checklist would help prevent all that food and packaging waste. The apartment itself was modern, clean, and well maintained, about an 8-minute walk from the beach. The kitchen had good basic equipment, a dishwasher, a fridge with freezer compartment, and a clothes rack. There was a balcony with two chairs and a table, plus two flat-screen TVs, one in the living room and one in the bedroom. A hairdryer and toilet paper were provided. The young receptionist on site was very friendly and spoke Polish, English, and German. The blonde receptionist at the hotel where we had to hand in the key wasn’t helpful. I asked in Polish, and she replied, "Niestety nie," claiming she spoke neither German nor English. That turned out to be a lie. I’ll write a more detailed review later.

The bedding was clean, but smelled strange, and the bedroom walls were thin enough that we heard the neighboring apartment being cleaned and later its tenants. The apartment floor could have been cleaner. We only spotted the recycling bins when we returned the keys, though waste sorting should have been explained at check-in. We’d rather have a breakfast buffet than delivery to the room, even though delivery has its upside: you can eat with your family without making breakfast yourself :)
