We ended up finding a lovely alternative and enjoyed our time in the area, but I wouldn’t recommend this place to foreigners visiting. When we spoke briefly with the host, she criticized my country and nation outright. I’m detached enough from my own country not to take it personally, but it felt out of place, and she should realize comments like that could make people feel their culture is being attacked. We had booked a room in May for two nights in August. The host didn’t ask for a deposit, but asked us to promise we’d come. We confirmed in July, then called a couple of days before arrival to ask about extending the trip by one night. When we arrived, she told us she’d booked the room to someone else and had found us similar accommodation nearby. She didn’t mention that it would cost 250 zlt per night instead of the 120 zlt we’d originally expected. When we objected to the higher price and explained that wasn’t what we’d agreed to, she said the “45 to 60 zlt per person per night” prices on the website were from 10 years ago and hadn’t been updated. The whole situation felt dishonest, with too many lies.

The grounds kept the children happily occupied, with a big open area, a little playhouse, a fireplace, and a games room with billiards and table tennis. The resort is also close to trails and other Bieszczady attractions, though the nearby busy road was a small drawback. Our room was spacious and clean, and the beds were comfortable. Ms. Danuta was very kind and made sure we had a pleasant stay without hovering. We enjoyed our time here.

The pond and bonfire, set in lovely natural surroundings, were a real chance to unwind from everyday life. Helmut's Paradise also makes a handy base for visiting interesting spots in the Bieszczady Mountains. The rooms aren't luxurious, but they have a character of their own. Any shortcomings were offset by the very kind owner, who makes everyone feel at home, and her dog, probably the place's biggest attraction.

We were a group of cyclists and this was our third visit. Everyone was happy again, thanks in part to the welcoming owner and Rynio, the friendly dog 😁. A lovely spot in the heart of the Bieszczady Mountains. We'll definitely be back to Helmut and Danusia's Paradise!!!
