Pałac Struga

This place is family-run, so don’t expect a big team available around the clock. The park is open and free, and there’s a playground for kids. Parking is free behind the outbuilding where the hotel and restaurant are. Don’t park in front of the palace: construction is still underway, so something could fall from the roof or facade, and remember there used to be a moat there. The palace/castle is undergoing extensive renovation. Tours must be booked in advance by phone or email, for groups of at least four, with a guide, and payment is cash only. Everyone is welcome, and the tour should be exciting. The income from the services goes toward restoring a place devastated by collective agriculture and robbery. It isn’t yet suited to visitors with disabilities because there are no elevators or escalators. The hotel is for advance bookings, and groups are welcome. If you urgently need accommodation nearby, call first. Rooms are typically for two people, with a shower and toilet and a decent standard, including TV and bottled water. The restaurant doesn’t run as a regular service, but you can book ahead for parties, communions, and similar group events. From June to August 2018, it hosted an Ice Cream Festival every weekend, with a wide selection of handmade ice cream for people wanting to try it or just passing by. Bar, coffee, and drinks service may be available for booked groups or during the festival, and outdoor seating may be available in summer.

Really fantastic.

It should be better once the restoration work is finished.

Super! 👍
