Hidden Peak

For a low-cost, no-frills stay, it does the job. The location worked perfectly for what I needed, and the shared toilet and shower serve four rooms. It’s self-service, so I didn’t see staff in person. When my door gave me trouble, I called the number on booking.com. The woman who answered sounded annoyed, said in clear English that she only spoke Polish and Russian, then hung up. I messaged through the app instead, and someone much nicer offered to come help. In the end, another guest helped me sort it out. It was okay overall.

There’s plenty of room for your belongings in the recently renovated, good-sized room. Shops and restaurants are close by, and the centre isn’t too far away. The shared bathrooms and communal space could use some attention: there was no soap in the shower, and the tea and coffee had run out.

There’s an iron, hair dryer, basic kitchen gear and towels, and the bed was comfortable. Getting into the centre is easy by public transport, or about a 30-minute walk. It was quite noisy during the day and afternoon, which made it hard to fall asleep. For one or two nights, I thought it was okay.

It’s a hostel, and the service feels fair for the price. The location is convenient too, not far from the centre.
