The self check-in was convenient, and the shared kitchen area had a microwave, fridge, sink, and all the kitchenware you need. We paid 47 euro for a night, which got us a nice room for the price. The windows were small, as shown in the pictures, but there was a small fan, so it didn’t get hot.

My room had three bunk beds, but I had it to myself. There’s no one at reception, though checking in yourself was really easy. The location is great, right by a bus stop, with a tram nearby too. The central railway station is about a 10 minute walk away.

The room was more or less what I expected, nothing special but nothing I’d complain about. The staff member was friendly and quick to reply when I made a last-minute booking. Since reception closes at 8 pm, she arranged for me to collect the key from a key box when I arrived at 9 pm, after I’d prepaid. That all went smoothly. The problem was that the towels and soap they were meant to provide weren’t there. I don’t travel with a towel. I emailed right away and searched the public areas, but found nothing, so I couldn’t shower and had to wipe my hands on my t-shirt. Mistakes happen. What upset me more was how they handled it. I had to bring it up myself at checkout, even though I’d emailed 12 hours earlier. The staff member only said “sorry.” I had to keep explaining that going without a towel was a real inconvenience. She replied that during the current pandemic some travellers didn’t even want a towel, and said I’d been “upgraded” to another room I hadn’t asked for. I told her I was disappointed and wanted to give them a chance to make it right. I also said I couldn’t accept unrelated arguments. Eventually she said she’d ask her manager about a refund a few hours later. I asked her to email me either way. Two nights have passed and I still haven’t heard back. The unprofessional response disappointed me more than the missing towel, so I’m writing this to warn other travellers. Next time I’ll stay somewhere that treats paying customers the way they deserve.

The room had everything I needed, right down to a hair dryer and fan, and the kitchen was cosy and thoughtfully set up. It wasn’t sterile, but it was fairly clean. The bathroom was mostly clean too, with a little dust here and there but nothing serious. A separate bathroom means you have exclusive use of a room off the corridor. The location was perfect, and the service was ideal. My room was ready a bit earlier than it needed to be, and I got an email and message explaining how to enter. The instructions were clear and everything worked like a charm. The main issue is noise. Even though the place is tucked away in a courtyard, you hear everything, including someone coughing in the same building and snow melting outside. If you wake easily, consider somewhere else.
