Hostel Siennicka

Siennicka worked out well for us, even though it isn't in Warsaw's old town. We had a Zabka right next door, more shops and some great thrift stores about a 10-15 minute walk away, and trams to the metro in that same area for getting into central Warsaw. Bus stops are just around the corner, and it's on the right side of the river for PGE Narodwy stadium and Warsaw Zoo. Warsaw East train station is close too, which helped for our trip to Treblinka Concentration Camp and onward travel into NE Poland. I'd happily stay here again and recommend it if you want a non-touristy part of Warsaw. We were here for a week with my Fiance to see Iron Maiden. There was a construction site next door, but we didn't hear noise from it. Some people might mind that. The outdoor benches and flowers were a nice touch, and there's a little bar on site with well-priced beer and food. The pierogi was lovely. Our room was basic, clean and comfortable. I appreciated having a fridge and a comfortable bed. The bathrooms were clean, stocked with toilet paper, and had a well-equipped shower with strong pressure and plenty of hot water. The staff were helpful and kind. One gentleman understood when a flight delay brought us in during the early hours, outside regular check-in. The cleaning ladies were lovely too, and we had a giggle or two 🙂

We stopped for one night on our drive toward the South of Poland, and I'd stay here again. There was plenty of parking, and the gate is closed overnight. The building still looks new, and the equipment and furniture are in good condition. Everything is simple and functional, and the rooms and other spaces were very clean. The staff were friendly and helpful. We'd arranged breakfast for 8:30. Only two families had ordered, but there was still plenty to eat: tea/cofee, several kinds of cheese, ham, butter, bread, cottage cheese, omlette, milk and a few kinds of corn flakes. Respect! There are worker dormitories in the same location, so quite a few strange men were sitting on the benches drinking beer :)

The beds were infested with bugs, and we couldn't sleep there, so we had to move out. The hostel's response was horrendous and they never refunded what we'd paid. Worst accommodation experience of my life.

I booked through hostel world, but in the middle of the night the receptionist told me there were no rooms and wouldn't give me one. I was shocked and asked about a refund. Then he said I could look at the room and stay if I liked it, or leave. What was I supposed to do at that hour? The bed was awful, with a lot of dirt, soil and mud on it. He brought a pillow cover, but the bedsheet was dirty too, and I was scared I might get sick. It's too far from the city centre, and I wouldn't recommend anyone go there. They supposedly offer breakfast, but I couldn't find any. A totally bad experience. Please don't visit this place.
