We were three young women, and one resident made us uncomfortable with a creepy comment about sleeping in the bed in the four-person room. He looked to be in his 40s or 50s. Before that, we’d arrived without any instructions for getting into our room. A man eventually came out onto his balcony and gave us the access code. Once inside, two residents refused to help and told us to work it out ourselves. One of them eventually called the manager, who yelled at him and told us to find our own room, even though we’d been given no information. The manager showed up later and only began talking to us after she learned that two of us spoke Russian and understood Ukrainian. She said she hadn’t wanted to help because she thought we were Spanish. She was rude and xenophobic. Our room had cobwebs on the ceiling, and we were practically in a basement. The service was terrible, everyone was extremely rude, and I wouldn’t recommend this place as a hostel at all. Update, 19 August 2025: After my first night of a 10-night stay, the manager came to the property and told me to delete this review or he “will make your life beautiful”. He also told me to leave or he’d call the police. He still refused a refund. This manager threatens clients. Authorities should look into the property, including law enforcement, sanitation inspection and consumer rights. Update: The manager physically assaulted me twice and tried to take my belongings by force while shouting xenophobic slurs at me in Russian, assuming I was Russian. He called security to intimidate me further. I called the police to report what happened. After he also called the police, he assaulted me again, kept insulting me and threatened to have the review removed. Update, 22 April 2026: Reposting this with updates. The case led to a criminal investigation against the owner after he accessed my personal data without authorization, most likely provided by corrupt police friends, and then sent written threats to my private mobile number. Almost a year later, I see they have tried to remove this review by force. There is documented evidence of my physical injuries, the police officers involved and police reports. Google should stop supporting abusers.

Although the staff were nice, I couldn’t stay in the single standard room with one bed that I’d booked in mid-December because it hadn’t been reserved. I had to use a shared room instead. My booking company had also failed to email me the building entry code.

I’ve travelled all my life and stayed in all kinds of accommodation around the world, including places that weren’t what I expected. This was the first time I’d seen such a large gap between the listing and reality, and the first time I was treated so disrespectfully after asking for a refund or a solution. The property presents itself as a hostel, but it’s a private migrant and refugee shelter, and guests are placed in the same dorm rooms as migrants. That would have been fine if the owners had been upfront about it. The information on Booking.com and the website is incomplete and inaccurate. Shared bathrooms are on different floors from the dorms, not inside them; they’re mixed gender, dirty and have broken locks. The manager repeatedly made openly xenophobic and sexist remarks to me, denied any solution, blamed me for everything, and refused a refund while continuing to blame me. The manager’s conduct and the shelter’s conditions don’t meet EU standards. Authorities should investigate the owners and property because they take advantage of migrants and tourists. I booked at the last minute and was pleasantly surprised. The place was clean, safe and very well managed. I’d definitely stay again on a visit to Warsaw.

They locked away the pots and pans in the shared kitchen, so there was nothing to cook or eat with. The hostess just yells at everyone in Polish and calls you an idiot about half the time.
