Hotel Karter

They took the money, then canceled the reservation without telling us, and we lost the full payment. We’d booked and paid in full, with a nighttime check-in specified, but nobody opened the door when we arrived. Calls went unanswered. We rang the doorbell and kept calling for an hour, still with no response. Elderly people were left without shelter at night, one of them disabled. Deception!

The room was clean and practical, with a kettle, though there was no minibar. The shower holder was missing, and the water pressure was so weak it felt like a small boiler serving a six-bed house. Hopefully the hot water improves soon, especially in winter. The hotel is very basic and sits almost right behind the Warsaw Airport runway, so it gets noisy. I guess you get what you pay for.

The hosts were genuinely kind, and staying here felt lovely. It’s a great choice if you want peace and nature, though being outside the city means shops aren’t close by. They don’t speak English, which can make things harder for foreign guests, but they understand well enough if you’re patient and polite when communicating.

There’s plenty of parking, and getting into the city center is fairly easy, with good public transport links. The rooms are on the small side but clean, and the staff are friendly. The airport nearby does make it quite noisy.
