Julia, the host, is very nice, but seemed completely uninterested in cleaning or maintaining the flat. The apartment was dirty, with hair and dust everywhere, and the previous guests’ used towels were still hanging in the bathroom. The toilet was yellow, so we had to clean it before using it, and water was leaking from the tank. The location is good, but it’s on the ground floor with bars on the windows. The upstairs neighbour was extremely noisy every night, until 4 in the morning.

Great location, but getting into the place was a nightmare. I walked around in circles looking for the unmarked address, then, once I found it, the woman at the cafe who was meant to give me the key wouldn’t hand it over. I still don’t know why. I called the owner using my phone on global roaming, and she gave me the key. After that, the owner wouldn’t answer the phone, again for no reason I could figure out. Breakfast was from the same cafe woman, one coffee and one cake. The room was dirty, and you can’t stand upright to shower in the bathroom. This was the worst travel experience I’ve had in years.

Julia is a friendly, helpful hostess. The modern apartment is in Old town, with most places worth visiting about 2-4 km away on foot. The location is excellent.

Julia was such a warm and helpful hostess, a lovely bonus. The apartment was clean and cosy, right in the middle of a beautiful city, with everything you need within walking distance.
