Moxy Warsaw City

I liked the rooms and the hotel’s design, but on my last day there were no lockers left and the hotel wouldn’t store my travel bag for the day. They had plenty of space, so I felt they could have helped, but they weren’t willing to. I’ve never run into that before while traveling. I wouldn’t recommend staying here if you need to leave luggage on your first or last day.

We travel together almost every month, and I’ve stayed at several Moxy hotels around Europe. Until this visit, I’d always enjoyed the staff and atmosphere, and we often pick a Moxy when extending a trip. Moxy Warsaw City left us disappointed enough that we cut our two-night booking to one night and moved to the Courtyard by Marriott at the airport. The gym mat had dried mud on it, apparently tracked in on outdoor shoes, and there wasn’t a single towel available. Even a hand towel would have made it possible to use the mat hygienically. Reception felt especially cold. When we asked questions, the answers were impatient and dismissive, and “Wait” came without any courtesy. During breakfast hours, as we walked toward the gym in workout clothes carrying water bottles, a staff member stopped us to say, “breakfast is not included, don’t drink anything,” and asked for our room number. It felt unnecessary and rude. We had two welcome drinks included anyway, and would have paid if we wanted coffee. The warning came across as disrespectful. A friendly staff member can make up for a disappointing meal or a small flaw in a hotel. Unhappy, unfriendly staff and negative communication are harder to overlook. I hope management treats this as constructive feedback. The Moxy brand has a lot of potential, but how staff make guests feel has a huge effect on the stay.

The happy atmosphere is what I expect from a Moxy, and this one had it. The tram stop is about 400 meters away, while the city centre is roughly 2.5 km from the hotel. Breakfast is limited, as it often is at Moxy, so there’s room to improve there. The rest was great.

The hotel offers good value and a fun vibe. It’s near the office but a little away from the busy part of town, so you’ll want a scooter. The room was on the small side, and breakfast was just okay, though the crepes are worth getting. For comparison in Warsaw, choose Crowne Plaza at the hub for bigger rooms and more breakfast choices, though it’s not great value. The Westin has larger rooms and good bar service, but prices are crazy now. Moxy is the pick for atmosphere and value.
