Senator Warsaw Apartments

I won't stay here again. The management took two days to answer my email about the problems, and the price didn't feel justified. The Wi-Fi was painfully slow, especially in the bedroom, where I couldn't get a proper connection and kept restarting my devices. The TV wasn't working when I arrived, and a technician took about an hour or more to fix it, which ate into my time. The mattress was the worst part. Someone had flipped it, and for two nights I slept on the springs because it was too hard and hurt my back. When I complained, management flipped it back, but the soft side had a urine stain. I then had to sleep on that side for seven nights. I don't know why they didn't clean the stain, but it was very unpleasant. I had asked the owner before booking if the flat smelled of cigarettes. They only replied that smoking was prohibited. On arrival, the smell was strong in the hall and inside the flat, and I found an empty cigarette pack on the balcony. The photos didn't show the unit I got, apparently because they own several. I expected a higher floor and a city view, but was on the second floor facing a large parking area with very bright lights all night. The thin, cheap curtains didn't block them. The bathroom was so dark it needed another light. For someone who likes walking, the location wasn't great. It takes about an hour to reach the Old Town, Downtown, or Center on foot unless you take a cab or drive. I wouldn't recommend the place unless they provide a clean mattress, fix the Wi-Fi, and improve the bathroom lighting.

The kitchen was set up like a proper home kitchen, with a full set of white goods, which suited me since I don't like eating out all the time. The apartment itself was really good, and easy to reach by public transport. Warsaw west station is a 15 minute walk away, and the Chopin airport is accessible from there. A few downsides: the room Wi-Fi was rubbish, and I couldn't get a strong enough signal to connect during our stay. The curtains also turned see-through when the light was on, so thicker ones would help. The supermarket downstairs was expensive and had limited choice. Lidl is a 10 minute walk away.

For such a large apartment with potential, arriving to dirt was a real disappointment. There was old underwear in the cupboard and dirty plates in the dishwasher. The bathroom tilework was dirty, and the door frames were badly damaged. The door lock wobbled and its cover was missing. The shower head was awkwardly installed. On top of all that, the bed was among the worst I've slept in, with tiny pillows and a duvet that was too short. Avoid it.

Guest services were friendly and helpful, and the apartment itself is modern and very nice. It's close to old Warsaw. I'd highly recommend it for a visit to the area.
