Solatium Apartments

Good value and right in the center, though it was hard to find. They don't speak English.

I booked the apartment in May, and even spoke with the property two days before leaving to arrange check-in and get the keys. Nothing suggested the reservation would be canceled. But on arrival, two hours after the agreed check-in time, I found out they couldn't honor it. I couldn't get in touch with them during those two hours either, by phone or message. Only after that did the agent tell me the property had canceled the booking. I can't recommend this place.

The balcony view is very attractive, and the apartment is well equipped overall. Still, parts of it need updating. There was no toilet paper, the sink was clogged, and the TV remote was missing. The wardrobe was worn out, with its door propped up in the hallway.

My booking was made about three months ahead and paid on time, yet it was canceled a few hours before I arrived in Warsaw without any explanation. I called a reputable agent, who said the owners claimed there were kitchen problems. The owners themselves never contacted me. After that one call, I was told quite coldly that another place had been provided, but it had been sold out for a week. I ended up with no accommodation and no alternative from the owners. I've never had such a terrible experience. The agent did try to reach the owners quickly to sort it out, and I have a few good words for their service, but they got no response. I also asked for the owners' contact details and got nothing back. In the end I had to book somewhere in a completely different part of Warsaw, and it cost more. The owners showed too little professionalism in the service they offered.
