The hotel and rooms were decent, but the young woman at reception was very rude and unwilling to help. Before check-in, we needed somewhere to leave our luggage and she said that wasn't allowed. When I asked where else we could leave it, she said, “Nowhere.” I also asked if she could connect us to the Wi-Fi, and she just said, “no.” Her attitude put me off returning. People who clearly don't like dealing with guests shouldn't be hired for reception.
The last day was especially frustrating, with no hot water that morning or at checkout. Earlier, a bad smell started coming from the sink and toilet during my final week. I reported it several times, likely a plumbing problem, but no one answered. The kettle leaked and couldn't be used. I mentioned it after a week and was told maintenance would take care of it, but nothing happened. I stayed 19 nights, and trouble began right away: the broken door handle made it hard to get in, and with no reception or staff on site, I had to call around for help. Later I left my key at the office and got locked out. It took ages and cost extra to get a spare. They asked me to return it quickly but didn't say where or how, then ignored my follow-up messages. Poor communication, broken amenities, no support, and no accountability.
For a short stay when you mainly need a place to rest, it does the job. The building has a good restaurant, and public transport is handy, with a direct route to a main station. WiFi and shampoo are free, and the bed linens were clean. But there was no service later in the afternoon, which I hadn't been told beforehand. The bathroom sink wasn't properly cleaned, and some of the furniture was old and partly broken.
There are grocery stores, restaurants, and a bus nearby, and the rooms are new. In cold weather you can switch on the heater. The room also had dishes, a microwave, and a fairly spacious refrigerator. But it felt expensive for the quality, and finding reception was confusing. When you enter the building, the reception belongs to another hotel, and they were rude to us. We had to pay for apartment cleaning and for fresh towels and bed linen. The room had a stove but no pots or pans, a TV with only Polish channels and no smart TV, a leaking shower that smelled bad, and a kettle that was too small. There were two beds but just one chair. We were offered “complimentary” breakfast, but had to pay for it. It felt like everything was an extra, and like this place was meant for one-night stays or parties. A lot of things don't seem properly set up.
The room was dirty, the bathroom had fungus, and both the bed and pillow were stained. While I was away on business, someone went into my room, put my things in a bag, and made the bed, even though I'd only just arrived. They just made the same bed. Given that staff walk in and move your belongings, it's not surprising that some visitors report things being stolen. Booking's 8-point rating doesn't match the apartment at all.
