Absynt Hostel

The location is great, and I didn’t see any bed bugs. Cleanliness was acceptable for the price, though I wouldn’t call it very clean. I’d booked three nights in a private room, but the privacy was only visual. It was right beside the common area, where people talked very loudly even at night. In the morning, you could find drunk, unconscious people lying outside your door. I couldn’t take it and left after the second night to book somewhere else.

I’ve stayed in around 100 hostels, and this is easily one of the worst. The bathrooms and showers were really dirty, and I could smell that someone had peed in the sink. The people next door probably hadn’t showered in weeks, and about half the men there were drunk. Absolutely disgusting.

There was only one shower and toilet despite the large number of rooms, and guests had to collect the bedding and pillows themselves from a pile in one spot. The rooms were left open, which felt very vulnerable to security breaches. Also, the kitchen looked quite different from the photos on Booking.com, and there was no induction cooktop. The hostel showed no consideration for its guests.

They didn’t listen when I said I was cold. I asked three times for an extra blanket or a thicker one, and they said they’d come to my room, but nobody ever did. Nobody seemed to care, so I got my own blanket from the car. I got a fever, and I also hurt my head in the shower because the light kept going off, leaving me with a bad headache. On my first day the room was really dirty, with garbage and a dirty floor. They cleaned it the next day because new people were coming. I’ve already made a vlog and have proof of who I told about my problem and which college I told. Don’t assume people stay at your hostel because they’re poor or have a small budget. I chose it because I was travelling alone. When I’m with family and friends, we always go to sky hotel in Wroclaw. Also, last time I came, in the last week of December at Christmas, bugs bit me and I’ve been itching for two months!
