Grey Apartments II

The apartment is spacious, with a huge window facing a construction site. It didn’t bother me, and there was no noise from it. Heating was a problem at first, but there’s a heater in the shared hallway that kept the room warm. There’s also a washer, dryer, and ironing board out there, though no iron. The cleaner runs laundry every day, and the hum is annoying through the door. You can only wash your own clothes in the evening, and to dry them you’d have to take out the load that’s already drying, with nowhere to put it. The microwave is perched on a tiny, very low fridge, which is inconvenient, especially three meters from the kitchen. The stove kept failing to turn on. I tried calling the number on the front door for two days and got no response. The outlet to the bed’s right was pulled out, the light fixture didn’t work, and the toilet flush was really loud. There’s tea, coffee, sugar, a TV, wardrobe, sofa, and two of the four chairs don’t wobble.

The stay wasn’t worth the price. The apartment is in an old building in an unattractive neighborhood, and streetlights shine straight through the window, so it may not suit you if you need a dark room to sleep. It was dirty, with an unpleasant sewer smell, and I’ve added photos. The owner says the apartment has been declared, but that isn’t true. You can hear neighbors, constant gurgling and whistling, and people shouting, laughing, and talking outside the windows late into the night. I stayed in April during chilly weather, and the apartment was cold. There was no bathroom radiator, and although the water was warm, it could definitely have been hotter.

I’m surprised by the earlier reviews, because I don’t agree with them. The location is okay, and you can find it if you read the property’s email. It was reasonably clean, though there was quite a lot of mold. It wasn’t noisy. Blinds would have been nice, but for such a low price I think it’s really good.

The only good thing was the relatively comfortable bed. The apartment itself was mediocre and worn out, with hair on the floor, mold in the shower, and a cracked shower tray. I was disappointed by the owner’s attitude. Once we got the contactless check-in details, they stopped responding. We arrived about 30 minutes after receiving the codes and had to try the entrance code 10 times before the door opened. A woman who lives there said it jams all the time. I called the owner to explain we couldn’t get into our apartment, but they never answered or called back. We worried each day that we might not be able to get back into our room if we went out. I won’t return. The owner’s reply is untrue. I didn’t email, I called, but nobody answered or returned my call despite my request. I had no way to report the problem. I wasn’t the one who stayed silent during the visit, the owner was. They had three days to call back and never did.
