The room was the biggest shock. It was dark, stale and dirty, with wear and grime visible everywhere, as shown in the photos I’m attaching. The sleeping area was essentially combined with the shower, which I find completely unacceptable for a Deluxe room in a hotel presenting itself as five-star. The pillow was dirty, and I found someone else’s hair under the blanket; both are in the photos. We’d specifically asked beforehand whether we would hear trams and were told no, because the windows supposedly faced the courtyard. That wasn’t true. The tram noise continued until 1:00 AM, and at 4:30 AM it started again and carried on through the morning. At 4:00 AM, noise from above woke us too, with neighbors constantly walking or running and the floor creaking and banging. My husband went to reception to say we couldn’t sleep in those conditions, especially with thousands of kilometers still ahead of us. We’d made clear in advance that a quiet room mattered because we had a long journey behind us and more travel to do. We arrived around 11:00 PM after a very long trip. The trouble started at reception. We were asked for a deposit, which completely surprised me. I’ve stayed in Palace and luxury hotels, including the highest-level ones, and had never once been asked to leave a deposit. It felt unjustified and inconsistent with the status the hotel claims. Where do these terms come from, and how are they justified? The evening receptionist, a blonde woman, was openly rude and unwelcoming, as if our arrival bothered her. When we couldn’t find the entrance, she didn’t try to help or even get up to show us where to go. After paying around €170 per night, we spent the night stressed and unable to sleep. People book hotels to rest. Breakfast was another letdown, very modest even compared with standard chain hotels. There wasn’t even freshly squeezed juice unless you asked for it separately. For a hotel claiming a high-class standard, that’s unacceptable. Honestly, I’d give it no more than 3 stars. It’s worn out and dirty, with very weak service. I rarely write negative reviews, but I want to warn future guests so they don’t end up in the same situation. I don’t recommend this hotel. If you want comfort, cleanliness and good service, there are much better hotels in Wrocław at more reasonable prices. I’m attaching photos of our Deluxe room; they speak for themselves.

The SPA was the biggest disappointment. The website photos make it look like there’s a spacious pool or jacuzzi, but the area can fit at most four people. Hotel guests also have to share it with external visitors, so using it comfortably is nearly impossible. The hotel lists both steam and dry saunas, but I learned on arrival that the dry sauna was out of service, with no estimated repair date. We were charged the full rate despite the advertised facilities being unavailable and the conditions falling short. A front desk staff member, Mr Piotr, brushed off my concern about the gap between the website and reality by saying, “Well, they had a good photographer.” That response felt entirely inappropriate for a hotel presenting itself as a luxury boutique property, and showed little professionalism or respect for guests. The room had cleanliness and maintenance problems too, despite the website’s promises and premium price. I found rubbish, including a sweet wrapper, behind the bedside cabinet. It was properly cleaned only after I reported it to the front desk. The socket for the in-room coffee machine didn’t work either, so I had to report that as well. Then the sensor-activated toilet flush stopped working altogether. Reception said there were no other rooms in the same category, and offered no fix or compensation. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone expecting quality to match the price. The stay was frustrating and left me feeling misled.

The staff were welcoming, and the hotel itself was clean and elegant. The room, though, was so dark from all the black decor and weak lighting that we worried we’d leave our belongings behind. The mattress felt decades old and uneven, so they really should look into replacing it. The decor might have seemed fancy and modern 20 years ago, but that much black is out of fashion now. Also, there’s not much food nearby.

We checked out a day early, but they wouldn’t offer a goodwill refund. Before that, our request to change rooms didn’t seem to interest the receptionist much. It was noisy throughout our stay: the walls were thin enough to hear neighbors, and there was noise from the basement too. On top of that, three weddings ran in a row on Fr/Sa/Su. Our window and the party’s open doors both faced the courtyard, so there was no chance of sleeping before midnight each night.

We liked the place so much that our 3-night booking became a 4th night. For a 5* hotel, the stay was really cheap. The staff were lovely and helpful, and smiling receptionist Mikolaj made sure we understood everything and answered our questions. At check-in, you’re asked for a deposit of 200zl./night, which is returned in full as long as you don’t make extra payments during the stay. The area is lovely and peaceful, with a backdoor alley leading to the park behind the hotel. We often used the billiard table and wellness facilities, and the included breakfast was fresh and tasty. The only hiccup was that the parking lot was full once, but it didn’t change how we feel about the hotel. Thanks for hosting us, we’ll be back for sure ;)
