Travel House

A really clean place with a huge terrace and a homely feel. The people were nice too. I warmly recommend it.

The Ukrainian room was clean, warm, and really spacious. I recommend it, especially for the big terrace.

We never got access to the terrace room we’d booked for one night. The contact person we reached through the number on Booking.com told us to try every door handle and go into any room that was unlocked. They were all occupied. The man on the phone couldn’t say when he’d come to sort it out, telling me, “I’ll be there in one, two, three hours,” at 7:00 PM, and repeating that we should find an open room and enter. Nothing was resolved until the next day. We were then told the owner had gone to Canada for family reasons, though I still don’t understand how that affected our booking when someone else was supposedly looking after the property. Our calls weren’t answered, and messages on Booking.com got slow replies. Instead of the terrace room, we were given a basement room with windows about the size of pizza boxes. The sockets stuck out of the walls, the ceiling leaked, and the shower tray was so high it was barely possible to step in. Someone had fitted a new shower enclosure on top of the old one and apparently thought that was fine. I couldn’t even find a way to file a complaint: the website links went nowhere, and emails and messages got no response. The conditions were bad, and management was awful to deal with. I wouldn’t recommend staying here to anyone.

The room and toilet were clean, and they supplied bedding and towels. A friendly woman welcomed me. I liked the stay, and the location works for me, so I’ll come back next time.
