Fajardo Inn

The grounds are nicely landscaped, though the buildings look faded. The two pools are gorgeous and expansive, and Blue Iguana was tasty and reasonably priced. We ate there twice. Our 1-Queen room was quiet and spacious, seemed newly updated, had working AC, and looked out over the patio, ocean, and mountains. The WiFi was so slow that we couldn't stream Netflix or other services on the TV. There's no walkable beach access, but Seven Seas Beach is worth the 10-15min drive in a rental car. With the right expectations, it's a true gem and great value. We'd definitely stay again if we return to Fajardo.

We only had a day pass for the pool and didn't stay in the rooms. The pool and putt-putt area was clean, well designed, and a fantastic place to spend the day. There’s plenty of potential here, and we'd do it again. A couple of things made the visit less convenient: first we had to drive to the lobby and get wristbands, with everyone required to go. Also, the bar and restaurant by the pool were closed.

The pool area is lovely, though my family has been itchy for days since swimming there, so I wonder if the chlorine was off. The rooms themselves were okay, but service was sparse. My grandmother's room had damp-smelling water on the floor that looked like it had been there for days, and our room had just one chair at the table. I called for another, but it never arrived. I’d come back for the pool and restaurant, but not to stay overnight. On our first evening, we were told the coffee shop stayed open until 9, yet it had already shut when we got there. We were hungry and went to bed without food: there’s no room service, and the only restaurant, the Mexican place, was about to close. We ate there the next day and liked it. There’s no breakfast, which is odd for a hotel, and no in-room microwave or coffee maker. For basic drip coffee, you have to wait until 8 a.m., if they open on time. We only spotted a microwave and toaster in the lobby on our last day. It would’ve helped to know about them at check-in.

The place was spotless, and the staff were warm and quick to help whenever we needed something. The views were great, and the pool complex was really nice. I did wish the pool snack bar had been open. For the price, it felt like a more expensive hotel.
