The only snag on our whole trip was the parking lot across the street. We paid an absurd amount to get the car out on the first day. When we explained what happened at the front desk, they told us to scan the ticket they provided, not the one printed by the booth. It never got resolved, so learn from our mistake. We’re already planning another stay. The grounds were immaculate, with amazing landscaping, flower-covered terraces, privacy hedges around hammock areas, and lovely seating spots. There were plenty of pools and shaded areas, which I appreciated as someone with fair skin. The poolside bar was great and the bartenders were a lot of fun. We watched the sunrise at the ocean every morning, and the pool quieted down by 9pm each night. The hotel is in a gated oceanfront community with a golf course, and it’s an easy drive to the Yunque Rainforest. They also had s’mores at the firepit after sunset, daily turtle feeding, and several Pilates by the ocean opportunities. There are no elevators, so we had to use the stairs, which could be a problem for some guests, but it was fine for us.

Jayson and his team left my husband a birthday surprise, which was thoughtful and very much appreciated. The grounds and structure were beautiful and inviting, and the pools were nice. The staff were all friendly and personable. Our room was never cleaned, though, and the beach, a short walk away, had no chairs or umbrellas set up. Prices were extremely high, with coffee at $7.50 and a margarita at $18. Parking cost $15 a day, and there was a resort fee of $40 per person per day. That felt outrageous when you have to pay for literally everything.

The grounds and pool area were very nice, and our room was clean and pleasant. The TVs had trouble connecting, though it’s not why people come here. Pool towels were handed out differently each visit, and I worried I’d be charged for one, but I wasn’t.

I took a solo trip back in March and only just got around to writing this. The resort is breathtaking and peaceful, but it was the people who made my stay special. Every employee greeted me with a smile and made a point of remembering my name, so my solo vacation felt like a family trip. Mariangeli at the front desk was kind and informative, and helped me get acquainted with the property as soon as I arrived. Efrain and Siomar were friendly shuttle drivers who gave me great suggestions for places around the area. At dinner at Trova, my server Neecheyane was incredibly kind, handling a busy night while still making a personal connection. Richardo at Cafe 1736 knew my order before I could even say good morning. I can’t say enough good things about the hospitality, and I can’t wait to come back! Honorable mentions: front desk, Mariangeli. Trova server, Kneecheyame. Shuttle drivers, Efrain and Siomar. The pool area was amazing, apart from the many iguanas that started swimming in it. We took the complimentary bikes they offer and rode along the golf area, and the big property is great for long nature walks. The rooms were clean and the property beautiful, with exceptional staff and service. The restaurant Trova was very nice, with lots of vegan and vegetarian options and great drinks. Definitely coming back!
