Aura House Isla Verde

The rooftop lounge was a favorite spot for our family to catch the breeze after a busy day, and the location made getting around easy. Restaurants, bars, and plenty to do were all within walking distance. Our three-night stay at Aura House was wonderful. Self check-in went smoothly, which was a relief after traveling. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well equipped, and we slept well every night. Daily housekeeping kept the place feeling well cared for. We’ll definitely be back. It’s a comfortable home base in San Juan for exploring the island.

The listing’s address is misleading. It sent us to a different, poorly maintained property with no one on site and no communication. The unit smelled bad, the bedroom ceiling leaked, and rain flooded the bathroom. Cleaning staff said the problems had been happening for a long time and affected many guests. Save your money and avoid the disappointment.

We lost running water completely, so the toilet, shower, and sink all stopped working and the space was essentially unlivable. We were told it was an “island-wide issue,” but nobody offered an urgent fix or a proactive solution. We had to keep asking for updates, and the promised 9am arrival never happened. Towels and toilet paper were missing, the WiFi had issues, and the AC was broken. Although we were told someone would come, nobody showed up. Getting a response took repeated follow-ups, and communication stayed slow and inconsistent. Staff acknowledged the problems and apologized, but there was little follow-through. When essential utilities are affected, guests should get timely solutions and reliable updates. The whole stay felt poorly managed, and I wouldn’t recommend it without major improvements to maintenance and responsiveness.

We still had water during the drought alert, with great pressure and both hot and cold water. Some people complaining don’t understand that the island works differently from the mainland and water service isn’t like it is in the States. Our room was perfect and everything was amazing. I was here for my dad’s funeral, and they even sent condolences. Thank you for such a great stay.
