Parador Villa Parguera

We left a night early because we’d had enough. On Friday evening, while my husband was parking, we sat for a moment in the empty restaurant. The front desk employee told us to leave because it had been cleaned and was closed. That was the last straw. We’d already been told there were no extra pillows, despite the property being nearly empty and the ones in our room being very thin. When we asked to see the room before paying, the same young woman at the front desk refused and said we had to pay in full first. Her claim that every hotel she’d worked at did this seemed laughable, and her dismissive manner made it worse. We also arrived on Thursday to find the restaurant and pool closed, which made the place feel deserted. We found out later they were only open on weekends, but nobody had told us before we came. The staff’s poor communication and lack of hospitality made us feel like a nuisance instead of guests. What might have been a pleasant stay was deeply disappointing.

We tried to move our summer reservation after a work schedule change, with FIVE days left before our stay. They said changes had to be made seven days ahead and wouldn’t help us, even though all we wanted was different dates. They kept the full $600 reservation payment. I’ve never had such an awful experience at another place I’ve stayed. Their cancellation policy sucks, and it felt like they just took our money. Be careful with these people.

The location was the one thing I liked, but it doesn’t make the high rates worth it. The owner seems not to realize what a great location this is or how many amazing ideas could be developed in that space. The room felt dated and wasn’t well maintained. The mattress was so uncomfortable, and there wasn’t even a basic item like a trash can in the room. I rarely leave a negative review, but this stay fell far below what I expected. I wouldn’t return or recommend the property without major improvements to basic upkeep.

Nice views, a cute place, and outdoor planting space where you can relax. We were happy with everything.
