Solace by the Sea

We had to stay two nights in mid-February 2026 because all the other hotels were booked, and the place was terrible. It was very dirty, the water didn’t work, there were ants in the rooms, and the outdoor facilities were old and poorly maintained. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.

The pool is the only thing this place has going for it. There’s no mini fridge in the room or anything else. I wouldn’t go back.

The bed was very good and the room was clean, but I found the hotel expensive for what it offers. It has an excellent location, though it has no direct or nearby access to the beach. There was no hot water for bathing during my stay. There’s no Wi-Fi, and the TVs only work with Wi-Fi, so they couldn’t be used. There was no refrigerator in the room, which I think is a flaw. The hotel has potential but needs a lot of investment and care. Electrical outlets are exposed, unused wires hang from the ceiling, the green areas need maintenance, and the pool was short about a foot of water. There’s no visible information about what the bar area offers. Sidewalks are cracked, parking isn’t properly marked, and there are no signs on the road to the hotel.

The stray dogs around the place had ticks, and there was dog poop near the pool. The hotel was filthy. When there’s a power problem, there’s no air conditioning, no way to open a window, and no water. The attitude we got was insulting too. I’d booked two nights, but with two little kids we didn’t feel comfortable staying the second night. They couldn’t process anything because there was no electricity or system. Now my booking agent can’t reach them to arrange a refund. What a scam. Save yourself the drama and go to the big hotel next door, which should have some backup power plan.
