Hotel El Guajataca

The workers were excellent, and it was a good experience overall. The views and area are wonderful, but the building and rooms need a lot of updating. It also needs a laundry facility for guests. The cats are cute, though there should be a designated place for them.

The location is beautiful and very convenient, easily the best part of the property. But the room's condition and cleanliness really need attention. There were spiderwebs around the key access by the door and in the bathroom, including a spider with egg sacs on the shower ceiling. It made me uncomfortable and anxious. The sheets and towels didn't inspire confidence either, and the towels were extremely thin and rough. The hard mattress felt low quality, and poor lighting from an old fixture and barely working bulb made the room dark and unwelcoming. The bathroom is outdated, with very little counter space for toiletries. The shower has no door, so water spills everywhere. With better maintenance and updates, the room could match the lovely setting.

The quiet, laid-back atmosphere and the friendly, helpful staff were what we liked most. Each clean room has an oceanfront view, and there are two pools plus direct access to the beach. The facilities are a bit dated, but we enjoyed our stay at this hotel.

The staff provided very good service, and the employees were great with guests. The back of the hotel, landscaping, and paths near the beach were also nice. But the rooms and the areas leading to them need a lot of improvement. Even though the hotel seems to have remodeled its appearance and main entrance, the room I stayed in was very outdated, as was the bathroom. The room's condition didn't match the photos posted on Facebook. For that quality, I found it overpriced.
