The rooftop baths were a highlight. One tower has hot tubs, while the other has stone tubs with a great view of the San Cristobal fortress on one side and modern downtown’s city lights on the other. The hotel is also hard to beat for its central Old San Juan location, with plenty of food and sightseeing within walking distance. We stayed two nights before our cruise and two more after. Gabriella at the front desk was super helpful, giving us information and arranging a taxi for getting around town and reaching some farther destinations we had planned. The rooms are cute, with Moroccan decor alongside local art. Because the building is old, they’re pretty small, and some don’t have exterior windows. We weren’t hanging out in our room all day, so that worked for us. The AC units took a little fiddling, but we found a comfortable setting. One note for management: room 3E really needs a new mattress. The middle is completely sunk in.

The AC and the friendly staff were the only good parts for us. The photos are misleading, and the rooms were dirty and dated. Old buildings can still be clean and charming, so the age itself wasn’t the problem. The shower water barely came out, and the bathroom sink only ran hot, never cold. There was other people’s hair all over the floors, shower, and sink. Stains or grime were on nearly every surface, from the sheets to the nightstands, lamps, and bathroom tiles. It was loud all night, with no soundproofing. The pillows left my face with a red rash, and the couch looked so old I wouldn’t even try sitting on it. There weren’t any water bottles in the room, either. It’s right by tourist traps like Fat Tuesday’s and fast food places. I’m glad we only stayed one night, I couldn’t wait to leave. Old San Juan is an amazing, charming place, and I’m sad hotels like this spoil the experience. I’d choose somewhere else on the north side.

The location was excellent for exploring Old San Juan, and we’d stay here again. When we arrived for our first night in San Juan, there was water on the bathroom floor near the toilet. The front desk checked that everything was working, handled it kindly, comped us 2 water bottles, and gave us a discounted room rate. We appreciated their hospitality and dinner suggestions, especially El Jibarito, which was incredible. The bed was comfortable, the water was hot, and there were seats and a hot tub area on the rooftop terrace where we could unwind.

The rooftop patios were the highlight for me. We spent so much time lounging up there and taking in the view. The hotel sits right in the heart of old San Juan, and the staff were all friendly, helpful, and accommodating. They stored our luggage on our final day and arranged a taxi to the cruise port, which was super helpful. Free coffee and water were always available in the lobby. The rooms are simple but clean and comfortable, with easy-to-control AC, a safe, and a mini fridge. It’s a quirky, fun place, and we’ll be back next time we’re in S.J.

We stayed three days in a junior suite before our cruise. A designer shirt seems to have gone missing from the room. Reception said management would get in touch right away after I reported it, but nobody did. I emailed again after checkout and still heard nothing. Housekeeping was very poor, too. There were no towels after the first night. After the second, the duvet cover had been taken off and clean sheets and towels left piled on top. The room was still untidy, and the door sign was still green, the way we’d left it that morning. It looked like someone had rushed to prepare the room. Along with the missing shirt, that left us seriously suspicious. A truly bad, unprofessional experience. I’d give it zero stars if I could.
