DUNA by DW

That big outdoor area was such a treat, and I loved waking up to the huge window right in front of the bed. The rooms are lovely and thoughtfully designed. Ocean Park is a great spot, close to the beach and an easy walk from good restaurants and bars. I really loved staying here.

That plunge pool quickly became part of our routine, a dip in the morning and again when we wanted to cool off later. We also slept so well on the mattress and sheets that we kept sleeping longer than planned. The suite at Duna by DW felt calm and well laid out, and coming back to it each day was something we looked forward to. For our first trip to Puerto Rico, the location made everything easy. We were between the beach and great restaurants, so even a last-minute change of plans was no trouble. The stay really shaped the trip, and we’d happily return.

The bathroom was the biggest problem for us. It didn’t look or feel clean, with lots of missing floor, and I wouldn’t shower there barefoot. The whole place also had a funky smell, and my daughter didn’t want to use the bathroom or stay there. I don’t blame the cleaners, the property just doesn’t seem well maintained. Before we arrived, communication had been great, and I’d been excited based on the photos. We paid for early check-in, which was refunded, but when we got there they were replacing a tile, with a bucket over it and wet grout. That was odd, though not a huge issue by itself. I told management about everything, but felt dismissed. They apologized that the tile couldn’t be finished before check-in, though grout takes longer to cure than the gap between stays. For what we paid, it wasn’t worth it, and I wouldn’t recommend it.

Just wrapped up my second stay at a DW property. The design is top notch, the team responds quickly, and there are great amenities and activities. I also liked being able to use the Dreamcatcher property as a hub for other things during the stay.
