The neighbors greeting us with a “good morning” when we woke up was such a sweet touch. My family and I loved how homey, clean, and safe the place felt, and we could walk to the beach, bars, and restaurants. I’d happily recommend it to anyone staying in San Juan. :)

For our 2025 year end vacation, we arrived to a room that smelled bad and had mosquitoes all over it. The owner seemed to have tried painting the room, and mosquitoes had gotten inside. I can’t understand why they’d have us stay in a freshly painted room with mosquitoes. The owner did refund us, though some fees were taken out, and I gave two stars for that. We still had to find somewhere else to stay at 3am.

Being right in Santurce, the arts district, made this a lovely San Juan stay, especially if you’re an artist. Calle Loiza is nearby, and the beach is only 10 min away. The family was so helpful and accommodating, and the laundry service was incredibleeeee. 10/10 recommend 🌟

We stayed here twice. On our first visit, we had a great experience, especially thanks to the shuttle service from the airport to the cruise terminal. It was also easy enough to walk to restaurants and the beach. On the return trip, though, things went very differently. The listing gave 108 Calle Perez as the location, but we were assigned the two bedroom duplex at 150 Calle Perez, a block away. It was spacious, but not as nice as the listing photos. The biggest issue was that a wall was missing between the bedroom and kitchen. Only stair slats separated us from the street, visible through a metal gate, so the space didn’t feel secure and didn’t keep out mosquitoes or other local wildlife. Someone else lived downstairs, and the open layout meant less privacy too. We left after a few minutes and went to another hotel with walls, air conditioning, and no mosquitoes swarming indoors. The owner, who had been kind on our first visit, refused to move us. When my family member mentioned her life threatening allergies, the response was that she shouldn’t have come to PR or the Caribbean if she was allergic to mosquitoes. That showed no kindness or understanding. There’s a big difference between going outside briefly with citronelle bracelets and DEET spray and being in a place with constant exposure, as well as safety concerns when people outside can see you in your home. The owner later said they had to do a full clean, even though we only stood in the entry, walked down the hall to look around, and used the toilet once. They said we’d used the shower because we moved the rug off the toilet seat and their shower had a constant drip. That felt dishonest. We had to find another place at the last minute, which was stressful, and I wouldn’t return because I can’t trust that the address and photos will match where we’re staying. It’s hard to believe the owner who seemed so kind the first time treated us that way on our return, instead of as repeat customers. If you book the two bedroom duplex, it’s at 150 Calle Perez, not 108 Calle Perez.

The host was very kind and quick to respond, and the neighborhood had a relaxed, pleasant feel. Lots of restaurants, bars, little shops, and the beach are nearby. I’d stay here again next time I’m in town, and highly recommend it.
