We had a wonderful two-night stay at Monte do Giestal in mid-October 2025. The care and attention were clear from the messages before arrival through check-in and the rest of our visit. The women on staff were so friendly and welcoming that we felt at home. The indoor pools were a hit with my kids. One has room for swimming, with hydromassage jets at the other end, and there’s also a small pool for little ones. The water was just right. They also loved feeding and watching the donkeys. Everything felt calm and quiet, and breakfast was great. There’s an easy 2 km walking trail from the property, though we didn’t manage to finish the loop. If you’re cooking in the villa, bring basics like salt, pepper, and olive oil. The kitchen itself has all the equipment for making proper meals. Thanks again to the lovely staff. We hope to come back one day! Obrigada!!

Breakfast was fresh, tasty, and homemade, and the staff made us feel welcome from day one. We spent seven nights here as a family and enjoyed the whole stay. The charming cabins were comfortable, with lovely views and nature all around, and the atmosphere was so peaceful and relaxing. A wonderful experience that we highly recommend.

At night, all you hear are crickets and toads. In the daytime, you can wander around the property and spot donkeys, sheep, lots of birds, and a huge, very old cork oak that stands out in the landscape. The Alentejo-style houses have lovely traditional details, and the place is made for resting and resetting. Breakfast was generous, with plenty of fresh homemade options. The staff were amazing too, always smiling and ready to help.

The property has a lovely big field with cork oaks and plenty of nature for a walk, and the breakfast was varied, very good, and had a homemade feel. The staff were nice and responsive on WhatsApp. The typical Alentejo villas are attractive and photogenic, with good decor, large apartments, TVs, air conditioning, and spacious kitchens. The central pool is nice, and the spa is simple, with an indoor pool. We had two free spa entries for our three nights; after that it costs €15. It’s peaceful and suited to a family wanting to relax. There were some problems that didn’t feel acceptable for the price and a four-star stay. Cleanliness was disappointing, with dust all over the gym and damp patches in the shower cubicle. One afternoon the pool was very dirty. We messaged the staff and were told it would be cleaned the next morning. Wi-Fi was poor in our apartment. The location isn’t great, with only a restaurant and a small grocery store ten minutes away, and there’s nothing to do at night.

A fabulous place to relax, with good food and very friendly staff. There are large houses with all the utensils and equipment you’d need for a longer stay. You’ve also got indoor and outdoor pools, massage, a steam bath, a sauna, and plenty more.
