Carlos and Florinda made us feel so looked after. They’re wonderful, welcoming hosts, the kind who make you feel as if your mum and dad are taking care of you. We can’t wait to come back. The house is a traditional, pretty two bedroom home with everything we needed. Double doors separate it from the owners’ part, so it feels completely independent. There’s a front yard full of herbs and flowers, with birds singing in the trees, and at the back there’s a pool area overlooking the countryside. We visited in winter, so we didn’t get much use out of the pool area. Even in the rain, it was nice to have coffee on the covered veranda looking over the front yard. The modern bathroom has a huge shower and double vanity. They made the twin room up as a large double for us, and both the bed and pillows were incredibly comfortable. On arrival, the fridge had cheese, ham, chicken ham, butter, and jam, and the kitchen also had tea, coffee, milk, juice, and cereal. Carlos brought breakfast each morning at the time we’d arranged: rolls, croissants, cooked eggs, fresh orange juice, fresh coffee, and cakes. The cakes changed daily and were always delicious. Abrantes really does make the best cakes. Florinda also gave us soup for lunch one day, and we got a few extra treats along the way. Thank you, Carlos and Florinda, for taking such good care of us.

The house was beautiful, comfortable, and in impeccable shape, and the hosts were thoughtful and friendly. It’s only a few minutes from central Abrantes, in a very quiet area. I was treated to an evening spread of homemade sweets, including palha de Abrantes, a local dessert, as well as other regional treats. The next morning there was a generous buffet breakfast with lots of choice, including a typical Abrantes tijelada. There’s free private parking. I visited in late November, so I couldn’t enjoy the pool, but I’ll come back when it’s warmer and have a chance to relax there. Congratulations to the owners, and also for your attention to sustainability.

The breakfast was generous, varied, and made up only of homemade and regional products, including palha de abrantes, tigelada, and preserves, plus warm bread and croissants. Mr. Carlos was kind and welcoming, and we started our short stay with a welcome basket. I was there from Friday to Saturday with BTT Loulé, and I’d like to return with my wife. Thank you, Mr. Carlos Sousa. The rooms are very good, the bathroom is spacious and well lit, and there’s a large living room and a well equipped kitchen. There’s secure private parking inside the property, with a good view of Abrantes. It’s a calm, safe place.

We had five wonderful days here as a couple with a young baby. Mr. Carlos and Mrs. Florinda were attentive throughout and gave us little treats during our stay. The accommodation was spotless and nicely arranged, and the breakfast was five stars: freshly squeezed orange juice, warm croissants, fresh bread, coffee, scrambled eggs, and a different sweet from a local bakery every day. They also let us try some of their own produce, from port wine and ginginha to olive oil and honey. We made the most of our holiday, relaxing by the pool and listening to the birds outside. It was a really restful few days that helped us recharge. We recommend it 100%!
