The Alentejo weekend was still a lovely one, despite the downsides. It’s a beautiful, peaceful place with the prettiest, starriest sky I’ve ever seen. The host is so kind and made us feel welcome. I really liked the breakfast, simple but very good, with homemade products. The room had a bad smell from the bathroom pipes. The bed was clean, but not very comfortable, and there was a lot of dust and cobwebs in the room. Getting to the estate was also quite difficult and took a long time.

Dona Raquel is definitely very friendly, but what was listed on Booking didn’t match what we found. The pool wasn’t working, there was no Wi-Fi, and our room didn’t have air conditioning either. Getting there meant driving more than 2 kilometers on an unpaved clay road in poor condition. We ended up leaving and going somewhere else, so I don’t recommend it. P.S. We left a bag there by mistake. When we went back the next day to collect it, Dona Raquel returned it to us.

It’s a quiet spot surrounded by nature, with wonderful animals, silence, an amazing pool, loungers by the pool, a barbecue area, and a great breakfast. Dona Raquel was attentive and thoughtful the whole time and made us feel at home. The only thing we’d suggest improving is the internet.

Dona Raquel is an extraordinary host, and she’s the main reason the stay is worthwhile. The place is pleasant and peaceful, though it could use some improvements. Getting there is a little difficult, with about 3 km of unpaved road, but it’s near several places of interest, including Terena, Azenhas del Rei, and Monsaraz.

Peace. This is a great place for people with young children who want to let them roam freely and safely, as long as they know how to behave around animals and don’t bother them. We didn’t lack for anything. If you need something, ask Dona Raquel and she’ll be ready to help. Finding the best way in on arrival can be tricky, but I called her and she kindly gave me directions.
