Helena and Armindo Abreu made us feel completely at home, and you can tell they care deeply about what they do. Our room was cozy, well equipped, and had a lovely view. We had such a warm, memorable stay at Solar do Alambique. We’ll gladly recommend it and hope to come back soon. Thank you both.

The suite was spacious, with a thoughtful layout, modern amenities, a jacuzzi, and a skylight over one of the rooms. We were lucky to be there while the property's distillery was making aguadente, and got to hear how the spirit is made and taste a little. During our one-night family stay in late May, Helena and Armindo even drove us between the property and Aveiro train station, despite having other scheduled events to attend. They also invited us to a dinner party with excellent local food, including roast pig, and wine. We met people from Portugal, France, and Canada, and still keep in touch with some of them. Our stay at Solar do Alambique was first-class in every way. Whenever we return to Portugal, we’ll make a longer visit part of the trip, after coming from Lisbon and before heading to Porto.

We found it a lovely base for exploring the Aveiro region. The pool, jacuzzi, and gardens are all great places to unwind, and the hosts were just right.
