Apartamento Varandas do Mar

The setting was pleasant, with friendly staff, and it’s well located. If you’re after some peace and want to enjoy the city, you can take good walks and get to know it.

The host offered a quick general clean after we raised our concerns, but we’d asked for at least an emergency bed and were told the sagging sofa was fine. We were then invited to leave immediately if we didn’t like it, which was hardly easy when I’d come from Italy and planned our trips months ahead. I’d chosen the most expensive apartment for a little extra security and ended up feeling like I was in a nightmare. It was extremely dirty, with stains all over the mattresses, a third bed that was an unusable, sagging sofa, and air conditioning that looked as if it had never been cleaned or sanitized. Neither basic hygiene standards nor the anti-Covid rules were respected. Not recommended, it’s a rip-off.

Ten out of ten for the apartment! My family and I had a wonderful week and were absolutely delighted. We’ll be back.

The pool is in urgent need of maintenance work.
