It's a lovely place, and the apartments have very good amenities. The pool is excellent, split across two levels, with the upper end suited to kids and inflatables. There's security around the clock. The rules by the pool are very strict and could be relaxed a bit. Also, the block is high up, so walking back from the old town or marina in the heat is a steep climb. Still, it's a lovely spot.

The balcony views were breathtaking. The long uphill walks are the main thing to plan for. Getting into town on foot wasn't too bad, but coming back in bright sun when it was close to 30°C was exhausting. We took a taxi once because we had shopping, it was the hottest day so far, and there was a taxi rank. It would've been handy to get one from Aldi, but there wasn't a rank there, so that means another long, hilly walk. Maybe it was the time of year, around April or May, but the sun didn't reach the huge pools very well because the buildings shaded them. The pools also had a lot of gulls, which might not be an issue during the busier season. I'd suggest having a car, knowing where taxi points are, or being comfortable with long uphill walks.

The private apartments were lovely, clean, and felt very secure, and the pools were good. It's a decent downhill walk into town, but the way back is up a really steep hill, which isn't great with kids. A 6 euro taxi is worth it.

These modern apartments are an excellent little find, right in a great part of Albufeira Old Town. Everything is central, and the centre is about 10 minutes away. Fisherman's beach is brilliant too.
