Hotel Apartamento Balaia Atlantico

The food and drinks were a major letdown. The all-inclusive option didn’t feel worth paying for: the bar only offered vodka and draft beer, with no rum or proper cocktails. Meals were mediocre, and breakfast was cold and horrible with hardly any options for adults or children, basically scrambled eggs or yogurt. The pool was filthy, with dirty water, missing tiles, disgusting grout that clearly hadn’t been cleaned for ages, and white worms on the ladders. There were bee and wasp hives around the property, which felt unsafe with young kids or babies. The baby cot/playpen was broken, and when we asked for a replacement, we were told none were available. Our sheets were said to be changed every two days, but ours weren’t changed during our 10 days and still had sand from our first beach day. The so-called double bed was two singles pushed together and very uncomfortable. The floors also weren’t washed during those 10 days. I noticed because my young child made small messes, and even after we cleaned them ourselves, the floor still felt sticky and dirty. The cleaning staff need more training. Staff were rude and unhelpful, which only added to the disappointment. The hotel needs serious maintenance, better management, and proper staff training. Don’t be fooled by the photos. This was a horrible experience and not worth the money. It’s definitely not a four-star hotel, more like one star at best. Avoid it.
