We stayed at Frentomar for just over a week in a side room with a partial sea view. It was on the small side, but good value for the area, location and quality of the accommodation. The location is a strong point. It’s on the edge of the old town, quiet at night and close to nice bars like Iguana Cafe. There’s a supermarket up the road with a terrace where they make fresh lunch, and it has a fee free cash point. Our room was very clean, with a nice little balcony. It also had a kettle, fridge, air con and a decent amount of storage. We found a shared kitchen in the basement too. Mornings could be noisy, with construction opposite, cleaners starting quite early and some noisy guests. The pillows were really uncomfortable, and another option would have been welcome. I’d stay here again if I came back to Albufeira, though the town itself lacked a bit of sparkle and didn’t have much of a scene. North and west of Frentomar felt more pleasant and local, with cheaper places to eat and drink.

We stayed in the second week of April and booked a sea view room. It was great value, with plenty of good cafes and restaurants nearby. The location is quiet but still close to the main attractions, including the old town and port. Peneco beach is really close, and the old town is a 5-7 minute walk.

We were lucky to get a sea view room, and waking up to that view from the balcony was breathtaking. The hotel is absolutely perfect and close to the old town. Across the street there’s a small bar with friendly staff, and just to the right is Indian Ocean, a fabulous and very popular Indian restaurant. I’d highly recommend it, the food is to die for. There’s also a jetty beside the hotel with benches and amazing sea views. I’d definitely recommend this hotel 100%.

The view of the sea and the location were great. Reception staff were as helpful as could be. The hotel is right by the lift down to the beach, and there’s a cat sanctuary there too. It stays quiet at night, while still being within walking distance of the old town and marina.

Shops and a lovely beach are only a two-minute walk away, with tapas bars nearby on a quiet street. Laguna is a particularly nice spot overlooking the sea. The hotel was very clean, the beds were comfy, and we were lucky to have a sea-view room with a huge balcony. Bruno and his staff were lovely and always happy to help. This was our second visit, and we’ll be back.
