Marriott Residences Salgados Resort, Algarve

In March 2026 we found the breakfast buffet excellent, but the à la carte dinner disappointing, with very few choices. Service needs improvement, partly due to management. Only one restaurant was open, and the website didn’t say that the others were seasonal. The kids’ club was seasonal too, and that wasn’t clearly explained. The gym was open every day. Rui, the manager, was very helpful and went above and beyond. Check-in took a while, though checkout was smooth. We’ll definitely recommend the resort and visit again. The location was convenient, about a 12-minute walk to the beach, near a grocery store, less than a 30-minute drive from the main areas of the Algarve, and around 40 minutes from Faro Airport. Our clean, attractive rooms each had air conditioning and a TV. The Bosch-fitted kitchenette had a washing machine, microwave, hob, oven, and fridge, along with good utensils and cutlery. The balcony made our stay more relaxing and comfortable. There were 9-10 outdoor pools for different ages, but none were heated. Towels and bathrobes were provided. The playground was worn and needed maintenance. I reported a sharp, broken jumping base that should be fixed or removed urgently.

We got a lovely upgrade and a spotless, spacious room, with excellent food and great service. We paid an off-season rate, about half what it would have cost in summer, so it was amazing value. A big thank you to the restaurant apprentices. Fantastic stay at Marriott Residences Salgados Resort. Highly recommended, and we’ll definitely be back!

We’re still here and really happy with the room, staff, and service. The receptionist was amazing when we arrived and gave us a free upgrade. The bar staff are lovely, friendly people and very helpful. My daughter and the little cat have become best friends 😂 Thanks for having us. We’ll definitely be back. We visited at the end of October, when the resort was already quite empty, and got a pool-view room upgrade. There are lots of pools and loungers, and the breakfast was solid. The resort is big and geared towards the outdoors and pools, but several facilities were already shut. Only the buffet restaurant was open, and the beach train had stopped running. I imagine it’s much nicer in high season with three restaurants. The pizzeria is due to open next year. Our 1BR suite was nice. Restaurant service was amazing, especially Arlindo at breakfast and the two female restaurant managers at breakfast, as well as the male manager on the evening service we attended. We could also use the facilities at the golf resort next door and The Westin, which was a plus. We had several room problems that weren’t fixed during our four-night stay, and reception wasn’t helpful. The dinner buffet was mediocre at best. You notice it’s a four-star resort when there are no umbrellas in the rain or room service. None of the pools are heated in low season. There’s a spa at the golf resort, but it’s adults only and costs 20€.
