Oura Senses

The staff were friendly and the rooms were very clean, though the sofa had old stains, the dining table that pulls out from the wall was coming loose, and the curtains had some burns and marks. Still, it was a lovely stay and those things haven’t put me off returning. The location and staff were definite positives.

We spent four nights at Oura Senses in Albufeira, and the stay was very disappointing. The room was in poor condition, with stains and holes on the walls, mold in the bathroom and a general lack of cleanliness. We were supposed to get room cleaning and daily bed-making, but no room service came at all during our stay. When we asked for cleaning, we were given excuses. We also had to keep asking for basic things like towels, which should have been provided without us chasing them. Between the poor cleaning, maintenance problems and services we were meant to receive but didn’t, I can’t recommend Oura Senses. I’d look for somewhere else to stay in Albufeira.

AVOID, AVOID, AVOID‼️‼️‼️‼️ My friend and I had booked a week, but on arrival we were put in a different building, one that wasn’t shown in any of the Love Holidays photos. We argued that we’d booked and paid for one of the apartments pictured on the Love Holiday website. The response was that guests are normally offered the option of a pool view, which we hadn’t been given, and that the pictured rooms were booked or being redecorated, so we were assigned the other building. The manager told us to find the room ourselves. They didn’t want to walk us there in case they got caught in the rain. The building looked awful from outside, there was no lift for our 25kg case, and the stairs were very slippery in the rain. Inside, the room looked modern but wasn’t clean. The sheets were dirty, the curtains had holes, there were holes in the ceiling, and the drains were blocked and smelled so bad that the whole apartment stank. On the first night I got a shock from a kitchen outlet when I plugged something in. The power went out everywhere, and the manager had to turn it back on. We were told not to use the kitchen sockets. The next morning, ants were all over the bedroom, including the bed, bedside table, curtains, floor and our belongings. We moved our things and went to reception. The manager said it would be “cleaned.” After we argued for another room, we were moved upstairs, but it had the same dirty sheets with hair and stains, the same holey curtains and smelly drains. There were ants in the kitchen too. When I asked for it to be cleaned, I was handed a bottle of cleaner and told to spray the area myself. We stayed five days. I asked for the room to be cleaned, since it hadn’t been. Our towels were changed once in the whole stay, the floor was never swept, the bedding was never changed, and the sink with all the ants was still the same even after the cleaner had supposedly “cleaned” the room. We’re two young women who are usually pretty laid back, but we were shocked to hear other guests had the same problem. They too were first asked to stay in the other building. When they went to reception and demanded another room, they were shown apartments from the websites, the kind we had expected, and were given two choices. They had to pay an extra £25, which we’d gladly have paid, but nobody offered us that option. Those guests kindly let us see their room. It was lovely, clean and well cared for, and it made us even more disappointed with our experience. The difference between the buildings was obvious: one looked cleaner, better maintained and more recently redecorated. When we tried to talk to the manager about the ants, her attitude was awful. She seemed more interested in her vape than in our problems. The cleaning staff had no vacuum or fresh bedding with them, just a dustpan and brush and a JD bag full of toilet paper. We read the reviews and thought it would be okay. Please book somewhere else. It was AWFUL.

The hotel itself was modern, clean and nice, but I’ve never dealt with staff this rude. The man at the counter was incredibly unpleasant and completely useless, and staff kept giving us dirty looks. Maybe it was just me, but we left two days early. I’d never go back.
