Rich & Poor Hostel

I arrived to find I couldn't enter, even though I'd booked and paid for my stay in full in advance. They said it was because I hadn't replied to a message, but I couldn't respond while travelling because I had no internet access. They offered no help or flexibility, and left me outside with no solution. I was shocked by the lack of basic hospitality and professionalism. Travellers, especially international visitors, can have connection problems, and I got no understanding at all. They simply cancelled everything without care. The worst part was the refund. I paid €186 and got back just €10. That's completely unacceptable. A total disappointment. Avoid this place if you expect respect and reliable service.

Fatima, the manager, was so kind and friendly, a real sunshine person. The dorms were clean, and there's an awesome view from the rooftop kitchen. The hostel is in a great location, just a few steps from the beach and the old town. Just be aware that the old town is a party area. Totally recommend it!

I enjoyed all five days I spent at this hostel. The dorms were spacious and very clean, and the atmosphere was calm. It's only a few minutes from Albufeira's old town and main beach. I'll come back next year!

David was so friendly and welcoming, and gave me great tips on places to visit nearby. The staff were easy to communicate with and went out of their way to make sure I was enjoying my stay. I met some amazing people and had a great time, which made my trip memorable. At Rich & Poor Hostel, the location is fantastic and the beach is within walking distance. My room was clean when I arrived and had a beautiful view from its Juliet balcony.
