We had a huge balcony off our room, which was a plus, but it was shared with the room next door and that cut into our privacy. The hotel was also very quiet, with little atmosphere. The bar was empty throughout our stay and we never saw anyone having a drink there. The hotel was okay overall, in a reasonable location with a basic continental breakfast each morning. But a number of things disappointed me. The biggest was a €25 charge for bedsheets that were supposedly damaged, although I hadn’t damaged them. It took several emails and a fair bit of effort to sort out before the hotel refunded the money. I appreciate getting the refund eventually, but the charge shouldn’t have happened. The place felt small and dated, and the rooms and facilities could do with refurbishment. The pool was much colder than I expected, so I didn’t enjoy using it much. The charge, tired facilities, cold pool, lack of balcony privacy, and quiet atmosphere all left me with a negative impression.

The pool terrace has gorgeous views and is kept really clear. I was a little unsure about having access to it from the room, but it worked out perfectly. The hotel is quiet and well cared for, with a decent continental breakfast. It sits at the calm end of the beach, while nightlife, shops, and cafes are an easy walk away.

We were right in the middle of Albufeira, which made it easy to walk to the shops, restaurants, and nightlife. My husband and I had a great stay. The staff were so friendly, breakfast was delicious with a lovely view over Praia dos Pescadores, and our room was spotless. The air conditioning was a real bonus when we stayed three weeks ago. We'd happily come back.

The whole stay was one letdown after another. We paid £650, yet the room looked nothing like the online photos. It was tired and basic, facing a noisy, unattractive street with traffic all day and night. When we asked to move, they wanted another €45 per day. They also demanded a €200 deposit on arrival in case we damaged anything, something no hotel had ever asked me for before. The air conditioning didn't work, and every door slamming nearby came through. Even using the safe cost €1.50 a day, and hot water for tea was €2. There weren't even tea bags or coffee in the room. The shower only had a cheap 3-in-1 wash that wrecked my hair. No robes or slippers, and the hairdryer barely worked. I'd asked for a bottle of wine for our arrival, but that was ignored. Breakfast was a joke for a vegetarian or vegan. All there was was ham, cheap jam, and dry toast. The staff were cold and unhelpful, and it felt like the place was just trying to get more money out of us. Nothing was as advertised.

It's a quiet, modest hotel just a stone's throw from the beach, though there isn't much in the way of facilities. Getting picked up or dropped off right outside was oddly difficult. A lot of excursions and Ubers had to use the corner instead. Breakfast was a small continental spread with plenty of fresh fruit, bread, and cheese.
