Villa Oahu

The place was dated, though clean as described. The beds were comfortable and I slept surprisingly well, considering its location on The strip. There was some noise, but it wasn't enough to keep me awake. The kitchen had supplies, but not enough glasses for eight people, and you couldn't make a meal with what was there. We had to buy basics like washing-up liquid and sponges. None of the toilet seats fit. A larger person would have to squeeze between the toilet and bidet to sit down. The living area didn't match the photos. I found a window ledge, three plastic armchairs and the rest was stacking chairs. The bedrooms weren't as pictured either: the first had a double and a single bed, rooms 2 and 3 had two singles each, and the fourth was sectioned off from the living area with a false wall that didn't reach the ceiling. Light from the living area came through, so you had to use its main light to see in that bedroom. The air-conditioning was broken: one unit blew hot air, another was like a freezer, and the third shut off with fault codes every two hours. None of the remotes had working batteries. There was broken glass around the pool that I had to pick up. The windows had bars, but all the latches were broken, so they couldn't be secured. Two gates were held shut with a padlock. There was no safe or other secure place for money or passports. One morning at 4am, two men tried to break in. They failed, but got into the villa at the bottom of the road. The listing said there was parking, but an abandoned recovery truck was outside the front door. Our hire car was hit on the last night and the side was damaged. I definitely wouldn't recommend it. With money spent on it, this could be a lovely place, but it didn't feel safe.
