Villa Royal Mill

The villa is lovely, and we enjoyed our holiday, but several problems changed our view of the stay. We initially left a positive review, though after what happened afterward, I can’t recommend the place. The airport pickup was a mess. We had paid in advance for a taxi arranged by the property, but it never arrived. We spent two hours waiting while being told someone was there, which wasn’t true, then had to book and pay for an Uber ourselves. We also found extra charges for baby cots, a highchair, and the hot tub that hadn’t been clearly disclosed in the booking details. There were maintenance and safety issues too: cockroaches and ants inside, a loose stair banister, and uneven poolside slabs that could trip someone, especially a small child. After we got home, we were accused of breaking a microwave, toaster, and 17 glasses. We absolutely did not break those items. Our children used plastic cups, and at most we broke two wine glasses during the stay. It’s a shame, since the villa itself is beautiful and we did have a good time there. I hope the owners address the repairs, state extra costs upfront, and deal fairly with guests after checkout.
