After landing in Lisbon, we rented a car and spent a couple of days driving to Alcobasa. It turned out to be the perfect introduction to Portugal. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and thoughtfully decorated. Our host, Lourdes, made delicious breakfasts with fresh-squeezed orange juice from her own trees, eggs from her chickens, fresh tomatoes, persimmons and other treats, along with homemade fig and pear preserves from her property. You won’t be disappointed.

The views are hard to beat, and the woman who runs the house is so charming. It feels wonderfully tucked into nature, a great escape from city noise, yet the center is still an easy drive away. We'd happily return.

The breakfast was excellent, and the staff were warm and friendly. It’s a lovely place with a great view across the hills, and the price was reasonable. In summer especially, book ahead.

We stayed in the separate place at the back. It was cozy, lovely, and had a really beautiful view. Our host was so helpful and friendly. I’d definitely recommend it.

Lurdes was welcoming and gave us great suggestions for places to see in the area. Breakfast was good, and there was parking. The B&B was very good, with a decent-sized room and bathroom.
