HI Alfeizerão - Pousada de Juventude - Hostel

The people and facilities are fine, maybe even great for what you pay. But the location made this a miserable stay. You can hear the highway all night, and they don't provide earplugs. I came hoping to get some rest away from Lisbon and couldn't. If quiet matters to you, this place is maddening. Getting here by bike at night felt downright dangerous. The hostel sits on the highway, and the only route in is a wild 30-minute stretch with no shoulders on the bends. I felt at risk the whole way. If you're eco-conscious or want peace and quiet, I'd only stay here if there were no other option. Otherwise, avoid it. I feel for the staff because they really are trying, but I won't return to this Hi Hostel. I've liked other Hi Hostels, but this one was sickening.
