They changed the room they had shown us at the last minute. The room we got was filthy, the bedsheet smelled mouldy, and there wasn't a hairdryer or any other facilities. They said they'd take €100 as a security deposit and return it if there was no damage. But they kept it even though the only thing that happened was I accidentally got makeup on the bedsheet. That's not serious damage. I'm really disappointed and feel scammed. They took €100 from my account. 😡

The recently renovated property has air-conditioned rooms with private bathrooms. Rooms include a desk, free Wi-Fi, bed linen, and towels.

I stayed in Almada, Portugal with my friend Aafreen Khan from March 7 to March 11. She booked South Bay Apartments, and the place was dirty and smelled bad. There was mould throughout the building, and the door locks didn't work properly. People came into our apartment without permission more than once and went through our personal belongings. Some money and other things were stolen, and €100 was taken from my friend's bank account without a valid reason. I strongly recommend not booking here.

I drove 25 minutes across the bridge to view the room, expecting it to cost €300 a month. The listing had originally advertised that price for a double room, but on the morning of my appointment it had changed to €350. The woman apologized for the price change, then said there'd be another €50 because I wanted to rent it with my girlfriend. I'd messaged her two days earlier to say I was looking for a room for me and my partner, and she never mentioned the couple charge. So what I thought was €300 turned out to be €400. That felt unethical and unprofessional.
