Olá Belém! Cozy Windmill, Stunning views to Lisboa

The mill has been turned into a cozy home, and the lovely garden makes it tempting to add a few extra days just to relax there. There are even tree houses at the top of the property, a fun spot to unwind, take in the view and enjoy a glass of wine. A rich breakfast is available, and the host is very nice. It’s an excellent base for visiting Lisbon if you prefer staying away from the crowds. Public transport works well, though allow an hour to reach the city center. The ferry is a short ride and always on time.

The host made us feel welcome right away. He was friendly, quick to reply, and ready to help whenever we had a question or needed something. That hospitality made our stay feel perfect. The windmill is cozy and ideal for a getaway, and the quiet setting is still easy to connect to Lisbon’s center by a beautiful ferry ride. Guests can enjoy the stunning garden, including fruit that’s free to pick. The views from there are incredible, especially at sunset. We loved everything from the comfort to the scenery, and would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Lisbon.

The host, Pedro, was amazing, and there are a few surprises during the stay that I’ll leave for you to discover. The view across the river to the city is priceless. The ferry to Belém is about a 10-minute walk away, though it’s steep, and the crossing takes around 10 minutes. If you’re reasonably fit and comfortable with stairs and inclines, this is the place to stay near Lisbon. Easily our most memorable accommodation in Europe so far. Thank you, Pedro!

The place was tricky to locate, and our GPS sent us past it in the dark until we hit a dead end and had to turn around. Once we arrived, though, we got a warm welcome and clear directions. The owner was really friendly and gave us useful tips for getting around the area. We loved the unusual little spot and its views over the water and nearby area. There are fig trees, grapes, and olives all around, plus little treehouses to spend time in. Take the lift up for the view from above. We booked through air bnb and even got a sweet surprise breakfast basket. Such a lovely stay, thank you!
