Quinta do Tagus Village

For the river view, it’s worth paying extra. The setting is beautiful, the staff are super nice, and it’s a peaceful base for exploring the peninsula while staying close to Lisbon. The à la carte breakfast was great, and there’s excellent water pressure. The bed felt a bit hard, but I’d definitely stay again. A ferry from Lisbon works, but check the times: Trafaria to Belém runs on the half hour in the morning until 9.30h, then on the hour starting at 11h. I don’t know when the first one starts, and there’s no 10h ferry. Take a Bolt from the hotel to the ferry.

The rooms let through some noise. We could hear our neighbors coming and going, and they probably heard us too. The property also isn’t especially walkable from town. Even so, we’d definitely consider staying again on our way into or out of Lisboa. We loved the view of Lisbon across the Tagus River, and the restaurant food was high quality and nicely presented. The staff were accommodating, and we enjoyed chatting with them, especially the dinner server and Pedro, the afternoon/evening manager. Getting to the airport for a Saturday morning flight was easy. Since we had to leave before breakfast was served, they prepared to-go boxes for us the night before.

We spent our honeymoon at this villa, and it was just perfect. The space felt private and peaceful, and the design was beautiful, exactly what we needed after all the wedding excitement. Waking up to the sounds of nature, having coffee with a view, and enjoying our own little bit of paradise made the trip unforgettable. The cozy interiors and romantic feel were lovely. The staff were warm, helpful, and respectful of our privacy. We felt very well looked after.

The property, views, and food were all wonderful, and everyone working there was friendly and helpful. At dinner on our first night, our waiter told us how easy it was to reach Lisbon. If you have a car, drive to the ferry a few miles away, and it drops you close to some great tourist attractions. I wish I could remember the waiter’s name, maybe George? My husband and I still talk about how lucky we were to find this place. We ended up at Quinta do Tagus after a major hotel group, Pestana, canceled the reservation we’d made nine months earlier, just 13 days before our trip. Pretty sure they gave it to some Swifties. We were scrambling to find somewhere else and booked the Panorama room at a ridiculously reasonable price. The stay exceeded what we expected.
