The room was tidy, comfortable and clean, with a private bathroom and a good strong hot shower. Reception was very friendly, and they confirmed other guests have had the same navigation issue. I booked online just a few hours before arriving and followed Google Maps, but there’s apparently a bug that sends you about five miles past the hotel to road marker 666. I took that as a bad sign, then doubled back and realised I’d already passed the place. It sits on the road just before entering town and is easy to miss. Breakfast in the restaurant was continental, with plenty to choose from.

After cycling all the way up from Faro, I was glad to be welcomed by Gonzalo, who made check-in easy. My modern, comfortable room overlooked the pool. The restaurant was closed on Monday, but Gonzalo suggested food from several local restaurants that deliver to the room. It was delicious and great value. I slept quietly and comfortably, then had breakfast in the restaurant: warm fresh bread, croissants with local honey, cereal and plenty of other choices, plus freshly squeezed juice and good coffee. I didn’t use the pool, though it looked very inviting. A superb stay made even better by the friendly staff. Thanks, Gonzalo.

My colleague and I found this restaurant by chance. It felt homely, the food was good, and our waitress gave us great advice. I’d definitely recommend it.

The rooms were clean and lovely, and the pool was gorgeous. We just wish the bar had been open on our first day. We’ll stay again.
